Personal injury protection insurance coverage or PIP, is an insurance coverage that you are required to carry as a driver in the state of Florida. If you are involved in a car accident regardless of fault you will have the personal injury protection insurance available to cover your medical expenses, 80% of your medical expenses up to $10,000 if you seek medical treatment within 14 days. If you wait beyond 14 days your insurance company may say that they are only going to cover you for $2,500 of your medical expenses.
