Delivery trucks are involved in a disproportionate number of serious accidents. For a number of different reasons, delivery trucks pose a danger on busy urban and suburban roads. Here, our West Palm Beach truck accident attorneys highlight the most important things you should know about delivery truck accidents in Florida.
Why Do So Many Delivery Truck Accidents Happen in Florida?
Each year, thousands of people are injured or killed in delivery truck accidents in Florida. For many different reasons, these delivery vehicles pose a heightened safety threat on our highways. Delivery trucks can be more dangerous because:
- They are large;
- They are difficult to operate;
- They make very frequent stops;
- Vehicles are used often and may not receive proper maintenance;
- Drivers are often rushing on tight schedules; and
- Drivers are not always properly screened or well-trained.
Who is Liable for a Delivery Truck Crash?
Every delivery truck accident requires an in-depth investigation. In Florida, negligent parties can be held legally liable for serious injuries. Victims can often step outside of the state’s no-fault insurance regulations following a major accident. Multiple different defendants may bear liability for a delivery truck crash, including the driver, their employer, and the company that leased the truck. An experienced attorney can help you hold all negligent parties accountable. By identifying all defendants, you will be in a better position to recover financial compensation.
