Daniel Lustig Named 2015 Rising Star
Pike & Lustig, LLP is pleased to congratulate Daniel Lustig on being awarded Rising Star status by the independent Super Lawyers rating agency. This award is designed to recognize the top 2.5 percent of young attorneys practicing in a state, and it signals an attorney with strong potential and a bright future.
Lustig’s Career
Lustig’s legal career began in 2008 and in 2009 he served as a Special Prosecutor for the State Attorney’s Office. After that he spent several years at a pair of well-respected Florida law firms, working on a variety of issues including personal injury litigation, insurance litigation, and complex employment disputes. After building his experience in these various matters, he founded his own firm with partner Michael Pike. Here he has managed to grow his practice, maintaining strong personal injury and complex commercial litigation skill sets, while branching out into other forms of business litigation, such as copyright and trademark litigation.
Before his admission to the Florida bar in 2008, Lustig attended Florida Atlantic University. He graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice. After that, he earned his master’s degree at Florida State University in the field of International Affairs. He then went on to law school at the University of New Hampshire School of Law, graduating with both his law degree, and a specialized legal master’s degree in intellectual property.
In addition to his expansive work in the legal field, Mr. Lustig also finds time to participate both in the local legal community and charitable organizations. He is a member of a variety of legal organizations such as the Florida Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Justice Association, and the Palm Beach County Hispanic National Bar Association. He also works with non-legal community organizations such as being a member of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Networking Hispanos. Additionally, he serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Families First of Palm Beach County.
What Makes a Rising Star
The Rising Star recognition is a special, patented ranking system managed by the Super Lawyer ratings agency. The ratings agency attempts to highlight the outstanding work being done by young lawyers in the local community by awarding the rating to the top 2.5 percent of young lawyers in a state. In order to qualify for a Rising Star ranking, a lawyer must either be under the age of 40 or they must have been practicing law for fewer than 10 years.
The Super Lawyers agency determines its Rising Stars by collecting nominations from local attorneys, usually requiring at least one nomination from a lawyer working outside of their firm. Then, the agency judges the attorneys on 12 categories designed to find well-rounded, excellent attorneys. The categories are verdicts and settlements, experience, transactions, representative clients, honors and awards, scholarship, special certifications and licenses, position in their firm, pro bono work, work in the legal community, employment and educational background, and outstanding achievements.
